About Us
Kirimbo is a Portuguese brand with African roots, specifically from Angola.
Influenced by its founder's more than ten-year connection to the fashion, apparel, and customer service industries, the brand's values are reflected in its image, represented by the imbondeiro (baobab tree), a symbol of energy, strength, longevity and hope.
Founded in 2020, the name Kirimbo is an adaptation of the word “Kirimbu,” which in the Angolan Kimbundu language means “stamp” or “mark.” Thus, we want our customers to be stamped with our values and energy through the use of our products.
Etymologically, the word “Kirimbu” is derived from the scars and scarifications used by various African cultures as signs of belonging to a specific ethnicity. During the transatlantic slave trade, African slaves, before being shipped to the Americas, had to receive a branded mark to show they had paid the taxes and dues owed to the crown. These marks, made with hot irons, also came to be known as "kirimbu." The word was incorporated into the Portuguese language, and its use came to refer to the tool used to brand slaves and later evolved to refer to other instruments used to create personalized marks on paper and parchment.
Kirimbo products are inspired by good environments, positive experiences, and good people. We are exclusive to those who value an authentic life with good spirits, aware of the past, and confident about the future.
Aware of the waste present in the textile industry, we work with partners who enable us to carry out personalized and regulated production of our products, offering exclusivity and discretion to our consumers.
